Description
|

|
|
When peaceful homesteaders Duncan McKaskel (Tom Conti), wife Susanna (Kate Capshaw), and son Tom (Kenny Morrison) arrive in the Wyoming Territory from Pennsylvania, they become an easy target for a scraggly gang led by the sleazily villainous Doc Shabitt (Matt Clark) until rugged frontiersman Con Vallian (Sam Elliott) intervenes. Attracted to the handsome Susanna ("You're a handsome woman," he likes to repeat), Vallian becomes their gruff guardian. Pride, jealousy, and rivalry make McKaskel and Vallian uneasy allies in this 1987 sagebrush saga, based on the Louis L'Amour novel of the same name.
