Frequently trading off the melody in a call-and-response fashion, their playing seems less like a dialogue and more like a long-married couple finishing each other's sentences. The album's highest points, however, are the passages in which Homayoun Shajarian's voice joins that of his father. The two share the same remarkable qualities—both weighty and lyrical with an earth-shaking vibrato.
