Description
|

|
|
Acclaimed filmmaker Neil Jordan's adaptation of Graham Greene's novel earned nominations for two Academy Awards and four Golden Globes including Best Picture. The 1999 film, set in war-torn England in 1939, features an Oscar-nominated performance by Julianne Moore as Sarah, the wife of Henry (Stephen Rea), a man she loves but with whom she shares no intimacy. Ralph Fiennes plays Henry's friend Maurice, who embarks on a torrid affair with Sarah, until she mysteriously walks out of Maurice's life. Two years later, Henry confides to Maurice his suspicions of Sarah's infidelity, and Maurice, desperate to solve the mystery surrounding the end of his own romance, agrees to help Henry uncover Sarah's lover.
