The little big band Roomful of Blues has been one of the most enduring institutions in American music, entertaining audiences with the swinging sound of big-band jump and jive for 40-odd years. In this collection, drawn from its years at Rounder Records during the mid-to-late 1990s, the band showcases a repertoire of horn-driven rhythm and blues from the 1950s that includes two Percy Mayfield numbers, "Lost Mind" and "Danger Zone," as well as the Dave Bartholomew-Smiley Lewis classic "Little Mae." Other signature tunes include "Smack Dab in the Middle" with Sugar Ray Norcia on vocals and his successor, McKinley "Mac" Odom, singing "I Smell Trouble."
