From a "Murder Long Concealed" in Kilkenny on New Year's Day to another murder (this time in Paris) on the 31st of December, here is a horror for every day of the year (including February 29th): dens of thieves and shipwrecks, murders and suicides, railway disasters and explosions, plus rats, a tiger attack, and a girl nearly killed by a Christmas tree.
