|
The "King of Cool" is the star of these two black and white films from the 1960s, digitally remastered. Baby, the Rain Must Fall (1965) is a Horton Foote screenplay, based on his own play The Traveling Lady. McQueen stars as Henry Thomas, a hot-tempered ex-con who dreams of being a songwriter, while Lee Remick plays his long-suffering wife Georgette. The War Lover (1962) is based on John Hersey's Pulitzer Prize–winning novel of the same name. Buzz Rickson (McQueen) is a volatile, arrogant B-17 pilot who actually thrives on the life-or-death action of bombing runs. His copilot Ed Bolland (Robert Wagner) is the only friend he has, until Rickson decides he wants Bolland's girlfriend (Shirley Anne Field).
