Sal Mineo steals the show with his inspired portrayal of jazz giant Gene Krupa in this 1959 biopic. Defying his parents, the young drummer sets out for New York with his musician buddy Eddie (James Darren) and his sweetheart Ethel (Susan Kohner). Rocketing to fame, and with little time for Ethel, Krupa finds himself in thrall to sexy jazz singer Dorissa (Susan Oliver), who introduces him to drugs. But after losing Ethel and serving time in jail, Krupa yearns only for a second chance at life and love. Featuring a soundtrack with the real Gene Krupa on drums, this widescreen, black and white DVD is remastered for high definition.
