The shock of this groundbreaking score can still be felt today in these six great recordings. In addition to digital versions by Antal Doráti, Riccardo Chailly, Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, and Esa-Pekka Salonen is a recording from 1956 with the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra led by Pierre Monteux—the conductor on the podium that monumental night in 1913.
