Emigrating from central Europe to Palestine in 1923, Ludwig Blum (1891–1974) became known as the "Painter of Jerusalem" for his images of the Holy Land. Among the 39 color reproductions here are paintings of the Dome of the Rock and a mosque in Tiberias, an olive grove in Gethsemane and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Haifa Bay and snow on Jerusalem, a Purim street festival and women washing clothes in the Tigris.
