|
Interesting plots, solid action, and talented casts elevate these Randolph Scott westerns from the early 1950s. In Fort Worth (1951), Scott plays a former gunslinger-turned-newspaperman who fears he may have to take up his guns again when a gang of outlaws invades his town. Colt .45 (1950) finds Scott as a gun salesman working to recover two stolen pistols, with great support from Lloyd Bridges, Ruth Roman, Alan Hale, and Zachary Scott (as the villain). And in Tall Man Riding (1955), Scott returns to his home town seeking his ex-wife (Dorothy Malone) and revenge against the rancher who drove him away.
