|
In a decided change of pace, James Garner stars in this 1971 film as a ruthless outlaw who leads a gang of thieves in search of a fortune in gold. When the bullion is transferred to a prison, he connives his way in and organizes a prison break as a diversion while his gang makes off with the booty. His partners in crime include Dennis Weaver, Claude Akins, and John Marley. This offbeat spaghetti Western was co-written and directed by screen actor Vic Morrow and features one of the best genre soundtracks not written by Ennio Morricone.
