Did you know that Doris Day was Hollywood's top female box-office star? After nearly 40 movies, she left it all behind in 1968 and began rescuing animals. Like Ella Fitzgerald, Day first tried to break into show biz as a dancer. Thankfully, their pipes came to the forefront, and the rest is history. The 31 tunes in this awesome collection are all Day's picks (she does admit to favoring love songs!): CD 1 from the movies and CD 2 from her recording career. They include "On Moonlight Bay," "It's Magic," "Love Me or Leave Me," "Secret Love," "Shaking the Blues Away," "Whatever Will Be, Will Be" (aka "Que Sera, Sera," which she told NPR she didn't warm to initially), "Fools Rush In," "With a Smile and a Song," "Little Girl Blue," "You Go to My Head," "Imagination," "Desafinado," "But Beautiful," "Easy to Love," "My Romance," and "Our Love Is Here to Stay."
