Rita Hayworth sizzles with sensuality as the eponymous femme fatale of this 1946 film noir set in Buenos Aires. Glenn Ford plays Johnny Farrell, a gambler down on his luck who becomes a gofer for ruthless casino owner—and head of an Argentine tungsten cartel—Ballin Mundson (George Macready). All is well until Mundson returns to the casino with new wife—and Farrell's former lover—Gilda. Fraught with hatred, Gilda does her best to antagonize, intimidate, and instill jealousy in Ferrell until circumstances allow him to get even.
