The Catholic Church's "Seraphic Doctor," St. Bonaventure, wrote several mid-13th-century sermons and histories of St. Francis of Assisi, deeming him a seraph as well—one who carried the fire of God's love within him like the seraphim, the highest rank of angels. It was a vision that guided all of Bonaventure's writings on St. Francis. The works in this omnibus include "The Major Legend of Saint Francis" and "The Minor Legend of Saint Francis," as well as October 4th sermons (St. Francis's feast day) from 1255, 1262, 1266, and 1267, with translations taken from Volume 2 of Francis of Assisi: Early Documents.
